What Is DJI FlightHub 2 On-Premises?

DJI FlightHub 2 is an enterprise drone operations management platform designed for coordinating DJI drone fleets. It enables program managers to monitor live flights, schedule and automate recurrent missions (including missions run through DJI Dock systems), plan flights, manage users, and analyze captured data across their entire operation.

FlightHub 2 On-Premises is the self-hosted version of DJI's cloud-based software. Instead of using DJI's servers, you deploy the entire system within your own private network. This gives organizations full control over data privacy, storage, system security, and network access.

Full control over your drone fleet data — hosted entirely within your own network.

How Do You Set Up FlightHub 2 On-Premises?

Setting up FlightHub 2 On-Premises is not a simple, plug-and-play process. At a high level, deployment involves the following steps:

  1. Purchase a FlightHub 2 On-Premises license
  2. Choose the hardware or hosting environment where the service will run (physical server, virtual machine, or private cloud)
  3. Install the required server software, such as Linux Ubuntu Server and Docker
  4. Extract the installation package and deploy the FlightHub 2 services
  5. Upload offline map tiles and elevation data for use in your private environment
  6. Configure your internal network to allow authorized computers to access your FlightHub 2 instance
  7. Integrate supported hardware, such as DJI Docks or fleet aircraft, with your server
While Terrestrial Imaging can guide you through the deployment process, we recommend that organizations have an experienced IT professional involved. Ongoing server administration, updates, networking, storage management, and security will be required after setup.

Recommended Server Specifications

If you plan to host FlightHub 2 On-Premises on your own physical hardware, the following minimum specifications are recommended:

CPU 8 cores
Memory 32 GB RAM
Storage 1 TB data disk
Network Minimum 100 Mbps bandwidth per DJI Dock

These requirements help ensure stable performance, especially when handling multiple live video streams, map data, mission logs, and automated workflows.

Is On-Premises Right for You?

FlightHub 2 On-Premises gives organizations the control and privacy of running DJI's fleet management software entirely within their own network, but it comes with additional responsibilities: careful planning, hardware selection, network configuration, and ongoing IT maintenance.

What kind of IT support do I need?

You'll need someone comfortable with Linux server administration, Docker, networking, and security patching. This isn't a set-it-and-forget-it deployment — ongoing maintenance is required.

Can I host it in the cloud instead of on physical hardware?

Yes. FlightHub 2 On-Premises can run on a private cloud server or a public cloud provider like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Does Terrestrial Imaging offer deployment support?

Yes. We can help with planning, deployment, and post-deployment support — from evaluating your infrastructure to getting your first Dock connected.
