The Sentera 65R Sensor with Gimbal is an ultra-high-resolution aerial RGB mapping camera integrated for Freefly Smart Dovetail aircraft. It captures 65-megapixel global-shutter imagery at a sustained 3 Hz, pairing a large-format Gpixel GMAX3265 sensor with a stabilized gimbal, an integrated IMU, and 512 GB of high-speed internal storage. The global shutter and high capture rate let you fly faster and cover more ground per flight without motion distortion, making it a strong fit for large-area mapping, survey, and inspection work on the Freefly Astro, Astro Max, and Alta X Gen2.
65 MP global-shutter aerial RGB sensor on a stabilized Smart Dovetail gimbal. Sustained 3 Hz capture, 512 GB onboard, built for large-area mapping.

Compatibility
- Freefly drones equipped with Smart Dovetail: Astro, Astro Max, and Alta X Gen2
- Also works on Smart Dovetail-equipped Inspired Flight aircraft, including the IF800 Tomcat and IF1200 / IF1200A, provided the drone has the Smart Dovetail hardware fitted (on the IF1200 this is the Dovetail Kit 3.0 / UPI 3.0)
What's included
- 1 × Sentera 65R Sensor
- 1 × Gimbal with Smart Dovetail
- 1 × 10 ft USB-C cable

Who this is for
- Survey and mapping crews on Freefly Astro or Alta X Gen2 who need high-resolution RGB coverage over large areas per flight
- Inspection teams that need to read fine detail from altitude with distortion-free global-shutter capture
- Construction, agriculture, and land-management operators producing orthomosaics and site models
- Operators who want precise time and position sync (PPS) for accurate geotagging in photogrammetry workflows
Please note: This is the Smart Dovetail version, built for Freefly Smart Dovetail aircraft (Astro, Astro Max, Alta X Gen2). It is a different configuration from the DJI SkyPort or other-platform versions of the 65R. Confirm your aircraft uses the Smart Dovetail interface before ordering. The aircraft is sold separately.
FAQ
Which aircraft does this version fit?
Any Smart Dovetail-equipped aircraft. That includes the Freefly Astro, Astro Max, and Alta X Gen2, and also Inspired Flight's IF800 Tomcat and IF1200 / IF1200A when they are fitted with the Smart Dovetail interface (on the IF1200, the Dovetail Kit 3.0 / UPI 3.0). This is the Smart Dovetail configuration, not the DJI SkyPort version of the 65R.
Why does the global shutter matter for mapping?
A global shutter exposes the entire frame at once, so there is no rolling-shutter distortion when the aircraft is moving. Combined with the sustained 3 Hz capture rate, it lets you fly faster and cover more area per flight while keeping imagery geometrically clean for photogrammetry.
What ground resolution can I expect?
With the standard 27 mm lens, the 65R delivers about 1.43 cm (0.56 in) GSD at 120 m (400 ft). Flying lower yields finer detail; higher covers more ground per pass.
How is imagery stored and offloaded?
The sensor has 512 GB of high-speed internal PCIe NVMe storage. Offload over the included USB-C cable (a right-angle USB-C adapter and AC power adapter are included), or use the Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Does it support precise geotagging?
Yes. The 65R exposes digital I/O including a Pulse Per Second (PPS) input for time and position sync, a PWM input for image capture, and an exposure-sync output, which supports accurate geotagging in survey workflows.
What comes in the box?
The 65R sensor, the gimbal with Smart Dovetail, a 10 ft USB-C cable, an AC wall power adapter, a right-angle USB-C adapter, and a travel case with custom foam.
