V1 vs. V2: which one is right for me?
Both versions share the same SKB shell, dimensions, weight, wheel design, controller cavities, battery cavities, and accessory layout. The difference is the payload tray:
- V1 payload tray is tooled for the original M300 Zenmuse lineup: H20, H20T, Z15, Zenmuse Z30, and FLIR XT2 — payloads released around 2020 and earlier.
- V2 payload tray (this product) is tooled for the current M300 RTK lineup: Zenmuse L1 LiDAR, P1 photogrammetry, H20, H20T, H20N night vision, and Wingsland Z15 — payloads released from 2021 onward.
Choose the V2 if you're flying the L1, P1, or H20N on your M300 RTK. Choose the V1 if you're still on the legacy Z30 / XT2 payloads. If you have a V1 case and have upgraded your payloads since, GPC sells the V2 payload tray as a separate replacement SKU — you can swap the tray without replacing the whole case.
What about the Matrice 350 RTK or RC Plus controllers?
The V2 case (like the V1) is tooled around the M300 RTK kit with the Smart Controller Enterprise. The Matrice 350 RTK ships with the larger DJI RC Plus controller, which doesn't match the V2 controller cavities. For an M350 RTK with RC Plus, the correct GPC product is the GPC DJI Matrice 350 Case (separate SKU). If you're running an M350 RTK with the legacy Smart Controller Enterprise (uncommon but possible), the V2 may still work — contact us to confirm fit before ordering.

FAQ
What's the difference between the V1 and V2 cases?
Same SKB shell, same dimensions, same wheels, same MIL-spec ratings, same controller and battery cavities. The difference is the removable payload tray. The V1 tray is cut for H20, H20T, Z15, Z30, and FLIR XT2 — DJI's older M200/M300 payload lineup. The V2 tray (this product) is cut for L1, P1, H20, H20T, H20N, and Z15 — the modern M300 RTK payload lineup. Pick the V2 if you're flying L1 or P1 or H20N; pick the V1 if you're still on Z30 / XT2.
Can I upgrade my V1 case to V2 payload compatibility?
Yes. GPC sells the V2 payload tray as a separate "DJI Matrice 300 V2 Payload Tray Replacement" SKU. If you already have a V1 case, you can buy just the updated tray and install it in your existing shell — you don't need to replace the whole case. Contact us to order the tray separately.
Does the V2 work with the DJI RC Plus controller?
The V2 case is tooled around the Smart Controller Enterprise that originally shipped with the M300 RTK. The DJI RC Plus is a different controller (larger, with WB37 external batteries), and it doesn't match the V2's controller cavities cleanly. For M350 RTK kits with RC Plus, GPC sells the separate "DJI Matrice 350 Case" — that's the correct product if your kit uses the RC Plus.
Does the V2 payload tray fit the Zenmuse H30 or H30T?
The V2 tray is cut for L1, P1, H20, H20T, H20N, and Z15. The newer H30 and H30T payloads (released 2024) have different dimensions and may not seat correctly in the V2 tray. GPC produces updated trays for newer payload generations; for H30-series compatibility, contact us about current tray options or a custom foam configuration.
How heavy is the case when fully loaded?
Empty weight is 28 pounds. Loaded with the M300 RTK aircraft (~6.3 kg / 14 lb), eight TB60 batteries (~1.35 kg / 3 lb each, ~24 lb total), two controllers, two WB37 batteries, payloads, and accessories, total weight is approximately 70-80 pounds. The inline skate wheels and pull handle are designed for that load — wheel the case rather than carrying it. The cushion grip side handle is for short lifts in and out of vehicles.
Can I check this on an airline?
The case shell is rated for the impact and environmental stresses of airline checked baggage, but the exterior dimensions (26.5 × 26.5 × 15.7 in) plus the loaded weight exceed standard checked baggage limits on most commercial airlines. Expect oversized/overweight surcharges and verify with your specific airline before traveling. Lithium-battery restrictions also apply: TB60 batteries are ~274 Wh each, far above the FAA / IATA 100 Wh threshold, and cannot fly as carry-on or checked baggage on a commercial passenger flight. TB60 batteries require Class 9 hazardous materials shipment by a licensed freight carrier.
Is the case lockable?
Yes. The padlock holes are reinforced with stainless steel padlock protector clips. The case accepts standard padlocks (sold separately). For programs that need TSA-compliant locks or specific security ratings, verify the padlock specifications against your organization's policy.
Can I customize the foam?
The V2 foam is tooled for the standard M300 RTK kit, including the removable payload tray with perforated cavities for individual Zenmuse payloads. If you don't carry one of the supported payloads, you can pluck the perforated foam to convert the cavity to general storage. For fully custom foam cuts, GPC offers custom foam services as a separate order.
Where is it made?
Designed and built in Poway, California by Go Professional Cases — the same manufacturer that supplies hard cases for DJI's enterprise drone lineup used by public-safety, surveying, federal, and commercial operators. The shells are SKB military-spec, and the foam is water-jet cut in-house in the United States.
What's the warranty?
The GPC case ships with a lifetime replacement guarantee from Go Professional Cases against manufacturing defects in the shell, hinge, latch hardware, and wheels. The foam insert and payload tray are consumable; replacement foam and trays are available as separate SKUs. Standard exclusions apply for damage from extreme misuse or unauthorized modification.
