The Freefly SL8 Fast Charger is a simple, high-output 200 W charger for Freefly SL8 (SuperLight) batteries. It charges one SL8 battery at a time in roughly 90 minutes from 0%, the quickest way to turn packs around between Astro flights. Because the SL8's built-in battery management system handles charging, balancing, and pack health, there are no balance leads to connect: plug in the pack and go.

How fast does it charge an SL8 battery?
Roughly 90 minutes from 0 to 100% for a single SL8-Air pack. This is the fastest charging option for SL8 batteries; the USB-C SL Charger is slower (about 2.5 hours with a 100 W supply).
How many batteries can it charge at once?
One at a time. Astro flies on two SL8-Air packs per flight, so operators running back-to-back missions often keep more than one charger on hand to shorten turnaround.
Do I need balance leads?
No. The SL8 battery has a built-in management system that handles charging, cell balancing, and pack health over the pack's own interface, so there are no balance connectors to plug in.
Can I use it internationally?
Yes. The charger accepts 100 to 240 VAC. It ships with a North America power cable (NEMA 1-15, Type A); the cable connects with a standard IEC320 connector, so you can swap in a region-appropriate cable as needed.
Will it charge SL4 batteries?
No. The SL8 Fast Charger is for SL8 batteries only. It is not compatible with SL4 or SL4-Ground batteries.
