Freefly LR1 Laser Range Finder Upgrade
The Freefly LR1 Laser Range Finder Upgrade is an add-on distance sensor module for the LR1 payload on the Freefly Astro. Built around an integrated Lightware SF20/C laser sensor, it measures target distance up to 100 m and displays a live distance readout in Auterion Mission Control (AMC). When you capture a photo, the distance at that moment is written into the image metadata, adding a measured range to every shot for mapping and inspection work. The module is user-installable, mounts to the LR1 payload with four screws, and ships with its matched counterweight.

Installation and notes
- The module is user-installable. Mount it to the LR1 payload with the included screws, install the matched counterweight, and plug the module into the expansion port.
- Using the distance sensor requires installing an additional app on the Astro. Follow Freefly's installation and setup instructions for the LR1 Laser Range Finder module.
- Auxiliary modules on the LR1 payload require the correct counterweight to keep the payload balanced. The needed counterweight is included; if you also run the LR1 Thermal Upgrade, use the larger counterweight plate that ships with the Thermal Upgrade.
