Who this is for
- Replacement. Operators replacing a damaged, lost, or end-of-life RC Plus on an existing Matrice 350 RTK, M30 Series, or M300 RTK
- Second controller / dual-operator setup. Crews running dual-controller missions where one pilot flies the aircraft and a second operator handles the gimbal or payload — common in cinema, complex inspection, and search-and-rescue work
- Fleet standardization. Agencies and contractors running multiple M30 / M300 / M350 airframes who want pilots to operate a consistent controller across the fleet
- Spare for mission-critical operations. Public-safety and emergency-response teams that keep a spare RC Plus charged and ready in case the primary controller fails mid-mission
- Training programs. Flight schools and agency training divisions that need additional controllers to run multi-pilot training without sharing one unit between students
What's included
- 1 × DJI RC Plus Remote Controller
Note: This is the standalone controller. The WB37 external battery, USB-C power adapter, charging hub, DJI Cellular Dongle, neck strap or chest mount, and any aircraft are sold separately. The internal battery is built into the controller and ships pre-installed. Most operators already have these accessories from their existing Matrice kit.
Setup and operation
- Charge the controller fully before first use. A 65 W USB-C PD source reaches full charge in approximately 2 hours, whether powering the internal battery only or both internal and external batteries when the WB37 is installed.
- Link the controller to your aircraft through the standard DJI Pilot 2 setup procedure or the aircraft's linking process. Refer to the user manual for your specific aircraft model.
- For maximum runtime, install the WB37 external battery (sold separately) before extended missions. The hot-swap design lets you replace the external pack mid-flight without dropping the link to the aircraft.
- For 4G-enhanced transmission in obstructed environments or BVLOS operations, install the DJI Cellular Dongle (sold separately) per DJI's instructions.
- Customize the six physical mission buttons through DJI Pilot 2 to match your standard workflow: camera switching, gimbal recenter, payload triggers, return-to-home, or any combination of supported functions.
- For dual-operator missions, pair a second RC Plus with the aircraft per DJI's documented dual-operator setup. The two controllers split duties: one flies the aircraft, the second handles the gimbal and payload.
- Store the controller in a padded case with sticks protected. Broken or bent sticks during transport are the most common controller damage in field-deployed kits.
FAQ
Which aircraft does this controller fly?
The DJI Matrice 350 RTK, the Matrice 30 Series (M30 and M30T), and the Matrice 300 RTK with current firmware. It is not compatible with the DJI Matrice 400, Matrice 4 Series (M4E / M4T), or Matrice 4D Series (M4D / M4TD) — those newer aircraft use the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise instead. It is also not compatible with the Mavic 3 Enterprise (which uses the DJI RC Pro Enterprise) or older Matrice 200 / 210 / 600 platforms.
How is this different from the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise?
The RC Plus 2 Enterprise is the next-generation controller built for DJI's current enterprise lineup: the Matrice 400, Matrice 4 Series, and Matrice 4D Series. It uses the newer O4+ Enterprise transmission system (vs. O3 Enterprise on this RC Plus), a brighter 1,400 nit display, and a different SKU. The original RC Plus is correct for the M350 RTK, M30 Series, and M300 RTK; the RC Plus 2 is correct for the M400 and M4 family. The two generations are not cross-compatible with each other's aircraft.
Does it come with batteries and a charger?
The controller has a built-in 6,500 mAh internal battery, which ships pre-installed and is charged via the controller's USB-C PD input. The optional WB37 external battery and any USB-C power adapter are sold separately. Most enterprise customers already have WB37 batteries and USB-C PD chargers in their kit from their existing Matrice aircraft.
How long does it run on a charge?
Approximately 3 hours 18 minutes on the internal battery alone, or approximately 6 hours combined with the optional WB37 external battery installed. Charging time is about 2 hours either way. Real-world runtime depends on display brightness, signal conditions, ambient temperature, and how often the controller is actively transmitting.
What's the range?
Up to 15 km maximum transmission distance under FCC rules (8 km under CE / SRRC / MIC), measured in unobstructed conditions free of interference. Real-world range is shorter and depends on terrain, building density, RF interference, and weather. The DJI Cellular Dongle (sold separately) adds 4G-enhanced transmission as a backup link for obstructed environments.
Can I use it for dual-operator missions?
Yes. The RC Plus supports DJI's dual-operator workflow: a second RC Plus can be paired with the same aircraft to control the gimbal and payload while the primary controller handles flight. This is the standard setup for cinema work, complex search-and-rescue missions, and inspection operations where splitting flight and sensor duties between two pilots improves quality or safety.
Can I swap the external battery without landing?
Yes. The hot-swap design lets you replace the external WB37 battery while the controller stays powered on by its internal battery, so the link to the aircraft is not interrupted. This is the design intent for long-duration missions where battery rotation has to happen in flight.
Does the cellular dongle come with it?
No. The DJI Cellular Dongle is sold separately and is not required for normal operation. It's used to add 4G-enhanced transmission for obstructed environments, BVLOS operations, or remote site deployments where line-of-sight RF link is insufficient. Most operators add the dongle only if their mission profile requires it.
Will it work in cold weather?
Yes. The operating temperature range is -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 122 °F), and the IP54 rating provides protection against rain, snow, and dust within the controller's operating limits. For cold-weather operations, keep the controller in a warmed case or vehicle until takeoff, and keep batteries near room temperature for charging.
I have an Inspire 3 — is this the right controller?
The DJI Inspire 3 uses a similar-looking RC Plus controller, but it ships as a separate SKU branded for the Inspire 3 / cinema configuration. The enterprise-branded RC Plus sold here (DJI part CP.RC.00000000.01) is specifically the M350 RTK / M30 / M300 RTK variant. If you're buying a controller specifically for an Inspire 3, contact us before ordering to confirm the correct SKU for your aircraft.
