The DJI Matrice 4TD with RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced Controller is the standalone, pilot-on-station configuration of the dock-optimized Matrice 4TD platform. It pairs the same airframe that flies from DJI Dock 3 — four-module sensor stack, integrated RTK, low-noise anti-ice propellers, 54-minute flight time, IP55 environmental protection — with the rugged DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced Controller. Operators get the M4TD's superior specs without committing to a dock deployment, and can add the dock later if the program scales toward 24/7 autonomous operations.
Standalone Matrice 4TD bundle. Aircraft, RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced Controller, 240W charging hub, full case, and accessories. Flight batteries sold separately.

Who this is for
- Public-safety, fire, and SAR operators who want the M4TD's superior cold-weather range and flight time without committing to a Dock 3 deployment
- Utility, energy, and infrastructure inspection teams running scheduled aircraft missions where pilot-on-station is the operating model
- Agencies and contractors that may add Dock 3 autonomous operations later: buy the airframe and controller now, integrate with a dock when the program scales
- Operators standardizing on the M4D-series airframe across multiple deployment models, where keeping the same aircraft type simplifies parts, training, and accessories
- Crews replacing aging M30 / M30T inventory who want the next-generation enterprise platform with integrated RTK and improved flight envelope
- Government and commercial customers who want M4TD specs but prefer a no-dock SKU to align with how the program flies day to day
Sensor and mission features
- AI Spot-Check. Saves a reference framing and exposure, then reproduces the same shot on subsequent flights. Critical for repeatable inspection of towers, substations, perimeters, and infrastructure where the same asset is photographed across months.
- PinPoint. Tap a target in the live feed; the aircraft computes real-world coordinates using gimbal pointing, RTK position, and the 1,800 m laser rangefinder, and broadcasts them to ground crews or to other aircraft.
- Wire detection. Omnidirectional sensing detects obstacles as small as 12 mm at speeds up to 15 m/s, with the M4 Series Obstacle Sensing Module (sold separately) extending detection range further when needed.
- Night Scene mode. Boosts low-light sensitivity on the visible cameras for nighttime DFR, surveillance, and inspection work, complementing the thermal camera for any-light-condition operations.
- Lens defogging. All three RGB sensors support active defogging, useful in humid, cold, or coastal environments where condensation otherwise compromises image quality.
- 100 MP panorama and Smart Capture across all three RGB sensors, with both UHR Infrared Image mode (1280 × 1024) and normal-resolution thermal photo capture.
Operating modes
- Manual flight with RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced. The aircraft flies as a standard pilot-on-station enterprise drone, with full DJI Pilot 2 access on the controller's 7.02-inch high-bright display, 25 km transmission range under FCC, and IP54 weather sealing on the controller.
- Future Dock 3 expansion. The same airframe is compatible with DJI Dock 3 for autonomous operations. An operator who starts with this standalone configuration can later purchase Dock 3 and use this same aircraft, without re-buying the airframe or sensor stack.
- Multi-aircraft fleet. The RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced controller supports the entire Matrice 4 Series (4TD, 4D, 4T, 4E), so an agency running mixed M4-family aircraft can standardize on one controller type.
Compliance and certification
| Remote ID | Standard Remote ID compatible |
| FCC, CE, SRRC, MIC | Certified per published transmission specifications |
| NDAA Section 848 | The M4TD is a DJI-manufactured aircraft and is not on the Blue UAS Cleared List. Federal and DoD buyers with NDAA procurement requirements should look at the Freefly Astro Max NDAA or other Blue UAS Cleared aircraft. |
FAQ
Does the bundle include a flight battery?
No. This standalone bundle includes the aircraft, the RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced controller, the 240 W charging hub, the power adapter, propellers, cables, microSD card, gimbal cover, screwdriver, screws, and the hard case — but no flight battery. The Matrice 4TD uses the DJI Matrice 4D Series Intelligent Flight Battery, which is sold separately. Most operators run two to three packs for sustained field operations.
How is this different from the M4TD with Dock 3 bundle?
Same aircraft. The dock bundle includes the DJI Dock 3 for autonomous, unattended operations and is the right choice for 24/7 remote programs (DFR, perimeter monitoring, scheduled inspection from a fixed site). This standalone bundle includes the RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced controller for pilot-on-station operations and is the right choice for crews that fly manually or that may add a dock later. Both bundles use the identical airframe, sensors, and flight envelope.
Why pick the M4TD over the M4T?
The M4TD is the dock-optimized variant of the M4 platform, but its airframe enhancements apply even in standalone use: 54-minute flight time (vs. 49 minutes on the M4T), integrated RTK module (vs. add-on module on the M4T), wider operating temperature range of -20 °C to 50 °C (vs. -10 °C to 40 °C on the M4T), 1364F low-noise anti-ice propellers, and the larger Li-ion 6S battery. Choose the M4TD when cold-weather operation, RTK accuracy, or flight time matter more than the price difference; choose the M4T standard bundle for warm-climate operations where the difference is less meaningful.
Can I add Dock 3 later without buying another aircraft?
Yes. The M4TD airframe in this standalone bundle is the same airframe that DJI ships with the Dock 3 bundle. Adding Dock 3 later integrates this aircraft into autonomous operations through DJI FlightHub 2 or DJI Cloud API. This makes the standalone bundle a sensible starting point for programs that may scale toward dock-based operations.
What's the RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced Controller?
It's DJI's current-generation enterprise remote controller for the Matrice 4 family, with a 7.02-inch 1,400 nit FHD touchscreen, IP54 weather rating, DJI O4+ Enterprise transmission at up to 25 km (FCC), an internal 6,500 mAh battery for about 3.8 hours of runtime, optional WB37 external battery for additional runtime, and support for the DJI Cellular Dongle 2 for enhanced transmission in obstructed environments. The "Enhanced" variant is the higher-tier configuration with the brightest display, full feature set, and broadest aircraft compatibility.
How long does it fly?
Up to 54 minutes of maximum flight time and 47 minutes of hover on a single battery, per DJI's published lab data. Real-world endurance is shorter and depends on wind, altitude, aggressive maneuvering, and payload draw. Plan conservatively, and verify expected flight time in DJI Pilot 2 before takeoff.
What payloads are compatible?
The M4TD supports the DJI AL1 Spotlight and DJI AS1 Speaker (both designed for the M4 platform). No mounting bracket is required when installing on the M4D series airframe — the accessories install directly. The M4 Series Obstacle Sensing Module is also compatible for extended wire detection ranges. Third-party PSDK payloads compatible with the M4 Series interface are supported as well.
Is this aircraft on the Blue UAS Cleared List?
No. The DJI Matrice 4TD is not on the DIU Blue UAS Cleared List and is not NDAA Section 848 compliant. Federal and DoD buyers with NDAA procurement requirements should look at Blue UAS Cleared aircraft like the Freefly Astro Max NDAA. State and local agencies that do not have an NDAA procurement requirement can operate the M4TD under their normal authorities.
Do I need a Part 107 license to fly this?
Yes, for commercial operation in the United States. The FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is the standard credential for commercial drone work. Public-safety agencies operating under Part 89 or public aircraft authorities follow different rules; consult your agency's policy. The aircraft ships compatible with Standard Remote ID broadcast requirements. We offer Part 107 exam prep and operational training alongside aircraft purchases.
