ACSL Soten Optical Zoom Camera
The ACSL SOTEN Optical Zoom Camera is a swappable gimbal payload for the ACSL SOTEN, pairing a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with a 2.5x optical zoom lens and 4K video. At just 195 g, it lets crews identify subjects and read detail from a standoff distance without adding meaningful weight to the aircraft.
2.5x optical zoom and 25x total zoom in a 195 g payload, built on an NDAA-compliant airframe.
Features
- 2.5x optical zoom: an 18 to 45 mm (35 mm equivalent) lens holds full image quality through the zoom range, with 10x digital zoom for up to 25x total reach.
- 4K video and RAW stills: records 3840 x 2160 at 30fps in H.264, and captures 9 MP stills as JPEG, DNG, or both simultaneously.
- 3-axis stabilization: pan, tilt, and roll stabilization holds ±0.02° control accuracy for steady footage at the tele end.
- Wide gimbal coverage: ±90° pan and a -115° to +45° tilt range let the operator look down, level, and above the horizon.
- Tool-free swaps: the one-touch payload interface changes cameras in the field, so a single SOTEN can move between optical, thermal, and multispectral missions.
- Flexible exposure control: f/2.0 to f/3.0 aperture, an 8 to 1/8000 second electronic shutter, and ISO 125 to 6400.
- NDAA compliant: manufactured by ACSL in Japan for agencies and operators with procurement restrictions.

FAQ
Which aircraft does this camera work with?
The Optical Zoom Camera is designed exclusively for the ACSL SOTEN and mounts through the aircraft's one-touch swappable payload interface.
How much zoom does it actually have?
2.5x optical zoom across an 18 to 45 mm equivalent range, plus 10x digital zoom for 25x total. Optical zoom preserves full image quality; digital zoom crops into the sensor, so image quality falls off as you push past the optical range.
Can I swap between this and other SOTEN payloads?
Yes. The SOTEN uses a tool-free one-touch camera mount, so a single aircraft can change payloads in the field between flights.
Is it NDAA compliant?
Yes. ACSL manufactures the SOTEN and its payloads in Japan, and the platform is NDAA compliant.
Is it weather resistant?
Installed on the SOTEN aircraft, the camera is rated IP43, which covers protection from solid objects larger than 1 mm and from spraying water at up to 60° from vertical. Operating range is 0°C to 40°C at 10% to 90% humidity.
What is the warranty period?
All products come with a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
