The RedEdge-MX is a rugged, professional multispectral sensor for agricultural drone mapping. Capturing both the spectral bands required for basic crop health indexes and additional bands to power further analytics, the RedEdge-MX is a multispectral powerhouse with a compact size and low weight that work with a wide variety of unmanned aircraft systems.
The RedEdge-MX allows you to capture five narrow high resolution spectral bands in one flight: blue, green, red, red edge, and near infrared. This data allows you to monitor and analyze vegetation through RGB imagery, vegetation indices, and digital surface models.
The RedEdge-MX delivers a resolution of 8cm/pixel (per band) at a flight altitude of 400 feet, and can even achieve a GSD of less than 1 cm/pixel at lower altitudes. Each image is geotag during flight so that it is immediately ready for post processing.
The MicaSense RedEdge-MX is compatible with the most advanced drones in the industry including DJI’s Matrice 300 and 200 series, and Quantum System’s Trinity F90+.
The RedEdge-MX comes with MicaSense’s downwelling light sensor. The DLS 2 module features an embedded GPS, 8 light sensors, and 12 directional sensors to maximize accuracy and consistency of data collect throughout varying levels of sunlight.
The included CRP 2 has known reflectance values across the visible and near-infrared light spectrum to enable more accurate compensation for incident light conditions.
